Greetings.
This is an AUTOMATED message, posted monthly, informing you of
the existence of a Frequently Asked Questions List for the
SCI.ELECTRONICS.REPAIR newsgroup. I know, "Joy!"
"How do I get it?"

2) E-Mail:
a) Samuel M. Goldwasser’s Guides (manual):
Samuel M. Goldwasser (s…@stdavids.picker.com) has volunteered
to e-mail (uuencoded) copies of his guides in text form. Just
send him e-mail requesting a copy.
Warning: Ensure that your mailbox can handle a 3000KB (3MB)
file – or it will bounce back to Sam and he will *NOT* be happy!
3) FileTransferProtocol (FTP):
a) The Circuit Cookbook Archive makes available a text snapshot
of this FAQ in both UNIX (long filenames, tar.gz format) and
braindead DOS (8.3 filenames, PkZIP format) formats. The
archive can be found on site(s) below in ‘faq/repair’:
NORTH AMERICA: CANADA:
FTP: ftp://ftp.ee.ualberta.ca/pub/cookbook/faq/repair/
b) The Circuit Cookbook Archive is currently mirrored at
"Universita’ degli Studi di Napoli", located in Naples,
Italy.
EUROPE: ITALY:
FTP: ftp://ftp.unina.it/pub/electronics/cookbook/faq/repair/
4. Additional Mirrors
I am very interested in mirroring the sci.electronics.repair FAQ in
other countries/continents. Since the current size of the FAQ is about
7.3MB, I would like to have about 8-10MB of space (to anticipate
future expansion).
I can process a copy directly for your site and upload it as either a
tar.Z (unix compress) or tar.gz (GNU gzip) formats (via anonymous ftp)
to your incoming directory. All you have to do is uncompress&untar it
in the directory we agreed on (so all the paths work). It’s as simple
as that![*]
I am very interested in setting up mirrors in:
* Australia
* Asia (Singapore, Japan, Taiwan)
* South America (Brazil, Argentina)
* North America (Canada, Alaska, USA, Mexico)
* Eastern and Western Europe
* Africa
* Where ever you may be!
If you feel that you can provide space for the mirror, please contact
me, Filip, with ([Feedback Form] or [mailto] ). I look forwards to
hearing from you.
[*] To ease portability, all cgi-bin’s are still executed on the
Texas, USA site. The same is true for the SearchSite and ScopedSearch.
More involved and comprehensive ‘mirroring’ cgi’s will be written when
my current killer-term is over. I can’t hande Differential Equations
and perl at the same time… wait, I feel a brain-cramp coming… it’s
com… ARRRRGGGHHHHHhhhhh!!!!!! Ow. Ow, ow, ow. [whine]
Take care. V1.10 1/19/97 (posted:Montly) (size:5KB)
P.S. If you do not wish to receive this posting, please investigate
the use of KILL files. I know nothing about your software or setup;
please talk to your support! Hint: "Subject:" line of this posting
will remain the same. Kill it. The crossposting was carefully
researched, but please email me your comment if you think otherwise.
