want to replace screen on pager with a larger LCD screen, advice please?

hi all,
heres the project i was thinking about doing :  I am a member of my
local fire department, and when an incident happens, i can have details of
the incident sent to my pager. so for instance if there was a fire i would
see "Fire at such and such street…" scroll across the screen.

I wanted to find a way to get rid of the existing screen, and
replace it with say a 16×2 LCD screen so i can mount the screen on the
dashboard of my car.  Mostly for the effect that it would be pretty cool
looking, but it would also serve the purpose of letting me know whats going
on instead of blindly responding to a call.

It seems to me that this shouldnt be an extremely hard task, ive
done plenty of wiring in my day, small electronics and such.  Im just unsure
of how the LCD screen would work.

any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Fabulous 60s Girl Gone Bonkers – Lots of CK722s

This seller has many CK722s and similar on Ebay, so many that I won’t
bother to list them.  Just do a search for  fabulous60sgirl and you
should get a whole bunch.

I think it’s kind of self defeating to auction off a bunch of the same
thing at once, especially if it’s a collectible since each auction
competes against the others.  The prices are diluted by the competition.
It would be better to offer a few at a time.  But then some sellers
aren’t too bright, I’ve noticed.  :-O

Oh, and some sellers are greedy and want as much money as quick as
possible.  That’s probably this situation.

Identifying an SO-8

Hi,

I’m trying to identify an SO-8 component – the only markings are "I-0382"
and "9822" – no logos etc. I suspect its something to do with a 938MHz
transmitter – there was a lable on the board that said "938 BP BR".

Thanks

Mike

75 Ohm Coax Recommendation for an RGB Cable

From what I have read, RGB video cables are 75 ohm impedance.  However, I
have never seen a recommendation for the RG number (or other qualifier).  I
am looking for a good quality cable as we want to go about 15ft with the
signal.  (Moving a monitor from one part of our lab to another.)

Any suggestions, recommendations, links to FAQs, etc, etc will be greatly
appreciated!!

Thanks!

Don

low current zener diode

Can anyone suggest or recommend a substitute for the BZX99 series? It
needs to work well at 100uA/3.3v. It’s to support an existing design.

PSU Charge Dissipation

Excuse me if this is the wrong group…

I have an old home computer PSU and I want to remove the electronics
temporarily while I cut extra metal off the rear circular exhaust port
as it interferes with exhaust air flow. Obviously I would prefer not
to come to any harm!

Can somebody please tell me how many day/weeks it would take for any
stored electrical charge in a computer’s power supply unit (PSU), i.e.
in the capacitors, to dissipate enough for it to be okay to touch the
circuit board and yet be safe from any potential electric shock?
