CLM6000 opto-isolators, anyone?

I’m looking for these, or at least what kind of LED’s and photoresistors are
inside them, so i could build my own.

opto-isolator = LED + photoresistor inside a light-proof shell.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Matt Kaiser.

I beleive the CLM6000 is no longer made.  Look for EG&G/Vactec.  They
    make similar devices.

Normally, it’s an infrared (IR) set inside there. You can make your own
(I’m not sure why) by inserting a IR LED into one side of a short
drinking straw and an IR detector photodiode into the other side of the
    straw.

However, if it’s a wide selection of pre-made opto-isolators you are
interested in, you should get a Digi-Key catalog.

    Good hunting!

And they are in the Newark catalog so you can get them from a Canadian
    source.

In the current  "All Electronics" catalog there is a Vactec VTL5C4 for $2.00.
This may be compatible.I usually make my own anyway.I take it it’s for
    musical app.,yes?
