Identifying Connectors

I am currently trying to identify several electronic connectors so I can
purchase the appropriate mates.  Several of these connectors have proven to
be very difficult to identify.  Does anyone have any suggestions for how I
might approach this?

    Large electronics catalogs.
    Connector makers websites.
Look for a logo on the connector, and see if you can track it down.
A description here might be an alternative.

You can post pictures of the parts on
news:alt.binaries.schematics.electronic by attaching it as a GIF, JPEG,
or other common image file. That way, someone can see them, and
hopefully tell you who makes them.

I have gone through several large electronics catalogs – Allied, Newark,
Digi-key and searched the web sites of Amp/Tyco, 3M, and Foxconn.  There are
no logos on the connectors as far as I can tell.  I examined them very
    carefully.

All of these connectors are attached to laptop hard drives (generally 5400
RPM) and provide the interconnect from the hard drives to the laptop
computers.  I believe they are IDE interfaces with power included in the
same connector, but I could be wrong here.

I did identify the mate of one connector.  It is a "Note Module" with 2.00
mm pitch made by Foxconn.  The part number is HH99227-T9.  It is part of
    their "Device Interface" product family.

I can provide photos to anyone interested.  Simply contact me if you wish to
    receive some photos.

Thanks for the suggestion!  I was hoping to find such a web site.

I will do so later today.

I just posted descriptions and a few scans (of small file size) to
alt.binaries.schematics.electronic of two mating connectors.  I am hoping
    someone will recognize these.
