Need Data Sheet for power mosfet BSS97 ?

Hello,

Does anyone have an old data book?  I need the data sheet on a BSS97 power
mosfet.  I want to know what I can substitute in its place.  There is
another power mosfet that has one pin attached to the BSS97, it is a BUZ32.
I am trying to find out the characteristics on power mosfets and determine
how significant the RDS is and what value is better, is lower resistance
better.  There is no schematic diagram available for this board and it works
like a camera flash unit.

Thanks
Claudio

I would look at the Philips and  Fairchild (sp?) web-sites. I would check it for
you, if my connection was a bit faster. Sorry :(

BTW, try NTE, at least you (hopefully) may be able to get a pinout and the data
such as Rds[on] and other parameters.

    BSS97: N-MOSFET, 200V, 1.5A, 10W, Rds(on)<2R, source:left, drain:mid,
    gate:right.

    Hello Dieter,

Thank you for the data on the BSS97.  The pin configuration is the
opposite of the BUZ32.  Where did you get the Data on the BSS97?  Testing
the both BUZ32 (out of circuit), it appears to be ok but both  BSS97 are not
responding the same way.  So I am suspecting the BSS97 to be the problem but
would need a new one to test and make sure.  Where can I get a BSS97 without
    having to order high quantity?

I have two boards and one of the BUZ32 power mosfets is in backwards.  The
outside pins of both BSS97 and BUZ32 are connected, it might make a
difference since the BSS97 pins are  opposite of the BUZ32.  I have been
searching the whole internet and could only find a Spanish site that had it
as 100v, 1.5a, 10w 2RDS.  I thought that the pins would be the same on both
but apparently they are not.  Do you know how important the RDS is and how I
would substitute, would a lower rds be better?

    Thanks again
    Claudio

I have tried looking everywhere and can’t find the data or a supplier but
did inquire at a couple of electronic supply.

Well, here in Germany its no problem, Segor (www.segor.de) still has
them in stock (EUR 1.00 incl. 16%VAT). Have a look on their
    international order conditions:

    Thanks Dieter,

I can now order a few parts that I need.
