Hi,

I need a serial bus can support speeds up to 10 mbit/s with error correction
included and that can carry signal up to 50 meters (about 150 feet) with no
signal repeaters. Is there such a thing that you know of?

The plan is to use Atmel’s 8051 chips (haven’t decided wich model exactly
yet) to be attached to that bus and controlled by the master controller, a
PC and to be able to do various switchy things with them (lights control,
locks, etc). I’ve moved into a new home recently and i obviousley need to
make it possible to lock myself in LOL.

Hello,

I’m looking into writing a Linux driver for a USB video interface that
used to be
sold by Pinnacle and then Dazzle (DV150). The hardware is very simple
but I
am missing a crucial piece of information.
The video to MPEG conversion is done by a Cirrus Logic CS92288.
Cirrus
sold its video business to Magnum semiconductors which apparently
doesn’t
have anything that looks similar to the Cirrus chip anymore.

Searches on the web only return the product brief that doesn’t contain
any
usable information. Unfortunately, many web pages refer to this brief
as a
"datasheet". The searches also return information about a reference
design
that looks almost identical to the DV150 (interesting no?).

So, I’m looking for the following:

The CS92288 datasheet
The CS92288 programing manual (user’s manual)
The user’s manual of the USB-DVR reference design based on the CS92288

The best would be a copy of the CD that came with the reference design
hardware (that contains all of the above+software examples and other
goodies).

The motherboard is an Intel D865PERL purchased in October 2004.  Two of the
electrolytic capacitors are bulging and leaking:

I can’t determine their value and the board is out of warranty anyway.  I
keep reading about solid state capacitors.  Are those the same as a "solid
capacitor"?  Instead of a tall can wrapped in plastic, the solid capacitor
is short and metal, not wrapped in plastic, and doesn’t have vent holes.

The British police obviously. do know what is taking place. Besides my
interpretations of. what individual officers have said which forces that
conclusion, it would be inconceivable for. them to be unaware of something
on this. scale.

If they know, then they. will know that the abusers have broken laws in the
UK and abroad. Recently the UK introduced laws. against electronic spying
which carry a penalty of several. years jail if caught. If the police know
illegal harassment. is taking place, and do nothing about it, then they are
failing in. their responsibilities.

Last Easter (1995) I went into the. local police station in London and spoke
to an officer about the harassment against me.. But I couldn’t provide
tangible evidence; what people said, in many cases years ago,. is beyond
proof, and without something to support my statements I cannot. expect a
police officer to take. the complaint seriously.

The current situation with regard to. the police is not one which allows a
breakthrough. in dealing with the problem. On the one hand, most individual
officers at a local police station may. not know about the ongoing assaults,
so a complaint at that level. will not yield results. Yet the police as an
organisation. do know of the harassment, and they must be aware that a
complaint has been made at a police station. So it. is clearly their duty to
take preventative action. against the continuing molestation, but because
the. criminals are operating on behalf of a state agency, the police are not
carrying out. their duty.
